SET Offers a Wonderful Opportunity to the Community
SET encourages members of our community to help continue our mission through donations. Through SET’s adopt-a-clinic program, organizations can choose which SET clinic they want to support through their donations. With so many clinics to choose from, SET hopes churches and other organizations will find a clinic to support that they care deeply about. Through SET Family Medical Clinics’s adopt-a-clinic program, individuals or religious organizations can donate to specific SET clinics. "The vision the sisters had was that they wanted SET to fill the gaps in our community," said president and CEO Zelna Joseph. SET hopes that the adopt-a-clinic program will help meet SET’s needs and, in return, be able to help even more people. "I would like to see more churches and community organizations get on board and support our organization," Joseph said. "In return, we can support their parishioners and members." There are several SET clinics that organizations can choose to support:SET Family Medical Clinic offers uninsured families a place for basic medical care, helps monitor chronic diseases such as diabetes and gives immunizations to children. In 2008, 111 children received immunizations from SET’s quarterly immunization clinics. All of those children are now up to date on the immunizations recommended by Colorado public health standards. SET Homeless Clinic located at the Marian House Soup Kitchen offers medical care to the homeless. The clinic offers basic medical services and distributes necessary hygienic items such as toothbrushes and paste, shampoo, foot powder and even new socks. Last year there were 1,884 clinic visits and professional volunteers donated 1,446 hours. SET Senior Well Being Clinics are run at 10 low-income senior housing facilities. At the clinics, seniors are monitored for their physical and dietary health, weights are checked and blood pressures are taken. SET also provides spiritual companionship for seniors to give them someone who will listen and help keep them uplifted. How your donation impacts the community:• $80 per month for a year serves 56 seniors at SET’s Senior Well Being Clinics. • $170 offers a spiritual companionship session to 10 seniors. • $200 serves more than 12 people at SET’s Homeless Clinic. • $500 serves almost 10 children and adults at SET’s Family Medical Clinic.
